The Marine Conservation Society - our chosen Partner
You may have seen on our site that we are donating 5% of our profits to the Marine Conservation Society, the UK's leading Marine charity, which has been in existence for over 30 years, and, in this short article, we wanted to tell you a little bit about them and why we support them:
- The Marine Conservation Society works towards helping our seas to be healthy, pollution-free and protected. They believe, as do we, that our seas are under immense pressure - too many fish are being taken out, too much rubbish is being thrown in and too little is being done to protect our precious wildlife.
- The unflushables - Have you heard that some items contain plastic and therefore don't flush away easily? Examples include wipes, sanitary towels, tampons and cotton earbuds. Unbelievably, a 2017 survey suggests that 8.5% of the litter on our beaches was made up of this content. Support this campaign by sharing its message with your friends.
- Jaws the movie might be make believe, but the sad truth is that shark populations are in serious decline globally. Over 40 different species of sharks frequent the UK but 50% of these are in serious decline. Help the Marine Conservation Society campaign for the introduction of Marine Protected Areas (MPA's) by donating here.
- Get involved. There are so many ways you, like us, can get involved in supporting this important Conservation Society. Check out this link to see what you can do to make a difference.
